Terms of Service
Last updated: May 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Piezopy (“Piezopy”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), a service operated by Pyriter, LLC. Piezopy provides a web dashboard and mobile application that lets you monitor AWS account cost, billing, and CodePipeline activity. By creating an account, signing in, or otherwise using Piezopy you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service
Piezopy reads cost and pipeline metadata from one or more AWS accounts you choose to register, displays that data in a web dashboard at app.piezopy.com, and optionally delivers push notifications when your spend crosses a configured threshold or a CodePipeline action fails. Piezopy is a read-only monitoring tool; it does not create, modify, or delete resources in your AWS account.
2. Eligibility and Accounts
You must be at least 18 years old and capable of forming a binding contract to use Piezopy. You may create an account using a valid email address or by signing in with a supported third-party identity provider (such as Google or Facebook). You are responsible for keeping your account credentials and any access tokens issued by us secure. Notify us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.
3. Your AWS Account
To use the cost-monitoring features you must register one or more AWS accounts and create an IAM role in each that grants Piezopy permission to read your billing and pipeline data. The IAM role and the trust policy you configure are entirely under your control. You are responsible for the contents of your AWS account, your AWS billing relationship with Amazon Web Services, all charges incurred in those accounts, and the security of any IAM role you grant to Piezopy. Piezopy does not provision AWS resources on your behalf and never holds your AWS root credentials.
4. User Responsibilities and Acceptable Use
You agree that:
- You will use Piezopy only for lawful purposes and only in connection with AWS accounts you own or are authorized to monitor.
- You will not use Piezopy to attempt to gain access to AWS accounts, data, or systems you are not authorized to access.
- You will not reverse-engineer, scrape at unreasonable rates, or otherwise interfere with the Service.
- You will keep the IAM role you grant to Piezopy scoped appropriately for your own security needs; you are solely responsible for the consequences of granting overly permissive access.
- You will not rely on Piezopy as your sole or authoritative source of cost, billing, or alert data. AWS provides its own billing console, budget alerts, and CloudWatch alarms; Piezopy is a convenience layer on top of those, not a replacement for them.
5. Notifications
If you install the mobile app and register a device, Piezopy may send push notifications when your spend or pipeline status crosses a threshold you have configured. We do not warrant that notifications will be timely, delivered, or received. Push delivery depends on Apple Push Notification service, your device’s network connectivity, and your operating system’s notification settings, none of which we control. You should not rely on push notifications for any time-critical decision; configure AWS-native alarms (such as AWS Budgets or CloudWatch alarms) for anything you cannot afford to miss.
6. Subscriptions, Billing, and Refunds
Piezopy offers a free tier and paid subscription tiers. Paid subscriptions are billed through Stripe and renew automatically until canceled. By subscribing you authorize Stripe to charge your payment method on the cadence shown at checkout. You can cancel at any time from the dashboard’s billing portal; cancellation stops future renewals but does not refund the current billing period unless required by applicable law. Stripe’s own terms and privacy policies apply to your payment data.
7. Service Availability and Changes
Piezopy is provided on a best-effort basis. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service or any feature at any time, with or without notice. We may also impose rate limits or usage limits on free or paid tiers. Maintenance windows, third-party outages (including AWS, Stripe, Apple Push Notification service, or our identity providers), and unforeseen incidents may interrupt the Service; we do not guarantee any specific uptime or availability and no refund or credit will be issued for short-term unavailability.
8. No Warranty
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION ANY WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE ACCURATE, COMPLETE, RELIABLE, ERROR-FREE, OR UNINTERRUPTED. We do not warrant that the cost figures, pipeline statuses, or alerts shown in Piezopy are accurate or current; the authoritative source for any such information is your AWS account.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- You are solely responsible for your own actions and decisions, including any decisions you make based on data or notifications shown in Piezopy. Piezopy and Pyriter, LLC are not liable for AWS charges you incur, for actions you take or fail to take in your AWS account, for missed or delayed notifications, for security incidents arising from how you configure your IAM role, or for any other consequences of your use of the Service.
- Piezopy and Pyriter, LLC, our officers, employees, contractors, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages — including without limitation lost profits, lost data, business interruption, or substitute service costs — arising out of or relating to the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
- Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you have paid to us for the Service in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) USD $50.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of liability for certain damages; in those jurisdictions the above limitations apply to the fullest extent permitted by law.
10. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Piezopy and Pyriter, LLC and its officers, employees, contractors, and agents from and against any claims, damages, liabilities, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to (a) your use of the Service, (b) your AWS account, IAM configurations, or any actions taken within your AWS account, (c) your violation of these Terms, or (d) your violation of any law or the rights of any third party.
11. Account Termination
You may stop using the Service and request deletion of your account at any time as described in our Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate your account, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or if continued provision of the Service would expose us or other users to legal or security risk. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including limitations of liability, indemnification, and disclaimers — survive.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top and, for material changes, take reasonable steps to notify active users. Your continued use of the Service after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Orange County, California, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.
14. Contact
Questions about these Terms can be sent via the Contact page.
